BMW 507 Roadster

One of the rarest and most beautiful cars BMW ever built — a hand-formed aluminum V8 roadster, just 252 made. Restored in our Texas coachworks and returned to its correct color.

The Commission

A rare roadster, set right.

The BMW 507 is the car that nearly bankrupted BMW and made its name beautiful forever — designed by Albrecht Goertz, bodied by hand in aluminum, and powered by BMW's first V8. Only 252 were built between 1956 and 1959. Our example arrived wearing an orangey-red that was never its correct shade, so a central part of the commission was setting that right: the body was taken down and refinished in the proper, deeper red the 507 is famous for — the same color as the car Elvis repainted. Alongside the color correction, the roadster received a thorough mechanical and cosmetic restoration to concours standard.
